Banksy's hide-and-seek act comes after director Roman Polanski was forced to miss the premiere of his new thriller "The Ghost Writer at the berlinale where it is in competition.
The crew and cast, including Pierce Brosnan and Ewan McGregor, presented the film Friday without Polanski, who is under house arrest in Switzerland on a US warrant for having unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977.
The premiere of “The Ghost Writer,” was a supposedly low key affair, held at the director’s Swiss chalet on the outskirts of Gstaad on Sunday, January 17. It is reported that there was no red carpet, no fans or photographers. Roman Polanski could not attend the Berlin Film Festival premiere held on Friday night. However, “The Ghost Writer” stars like Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan were seen attending the special occasion. It even included the producer and screenplay writer.
According to reports, few days ago Roman Polanski was sent a DVD version of the movie by the producer, from Paris. The director apparently did not want to watch the movie alone, so he reportedly invited the writer Robert Harris to Gstaad. Reportedly, Robert Harris traveled from England to watch the private screening. The writer supposedly said that he carried a bottle of champagne with him which was opened after the film ended, to mark the celebration.
